Legislation was enacted during the 2009 Regular Session of the
Louisiana Legislature which eliminated the Childcare Licensing
Advisory Committee. The Board of Directors of the Childcare
Association of Louisiana worked diligently with the Louisiana
Department of Social Services to create in lieu thereof, an advisory
committee that will address the problems licensed childcare centers
face with Class A and Class B licensing rules and regulations.
Senate Bill 238 - Act 194 of 2009 Regular Session
Below is a document that outlines the current process in place for
appeal, once DSS has notified a licensed childcare center that their
license is subject to suspension or revocation. This information
was provided to the Childcare Association of Louisiana by the
Louisiana Department of Social Services.
